Family Connects Chicago

Giving birthing parents, infants and families a healthy start

The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Family Connects International are organizations focused the health and wellbeing of Chicago families, from the moment they’re born. CDPH and a coalition of community partners have worked hard with local hospitals to give families with new infants a free home nurse visit and connect them with helpful resources for this crucial stage of life.

CDPH needed a landing page and all-encompassing marketing tools to help directly educate birthing parents in the city about the program, and help healthcare partners communicate the value of the program both internally and externally.

It was most important to spotlight stories of real Chicago families and for the work to:

  • Include testimonials and images of real program participants and nurses, including visuals of nurses interacting with parents and babies to give folks a look at what to expect during their own free visit

  • Involve Chicagoans of various ethnicities, gender expression and ages, to allow audiences to see themselves in the work

  • Use a supportive tone and straightforward language, getting to the point as quickly and clearly as possible at an accessible reading and comprehension level

  • Creative Direction

  • Video Production
